Conference Services Manager

About the role

The Conference Services Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of events, conferences, and meetings at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. This role ensures client expectations are met while driving revenue and maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage event logistics, liaise with clients, and coordinate with all hotel departments to deliver seamless experiences.
• Ensure accuracy of booking contracts, prepare 90‑180‑day financial forecasts, and contribute to budgeting and marketing plans.
• Analyze sales and revenue strategies, achieve monthly and annual revenue targets, and provide recommendations to maximize profit.
• Supervise banquet execution, review Banquet Event Orders, and resolve operational issues during events.
• Maintain compliance with safety, security, and SOPs, monitor meeting‑space equipment, and support crisis‑management plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Catering or Conference Services Manager in a full‑service resort or hotel.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to negotiate, delegate, multitask, and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of food‑and‑beverage preparation, health regulations, and liquor laws.
• Preferred: Forbes service experience and a 4‑year college degree.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Delphi Sales/Catering Software and Opera PMS.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Audio‑Visual equipment, internet, and telecommunication technology.
