Cook II – 1919 Restaurant

About the role

The 1919 Restaurant at the historic Condado Vanderbilt Hotel is seeking a Cook II to support the 1st Cook in delivering high‑quality dishes. You will work in a fast‑paced, luxury hospitality environment, ensuring timely preparation and service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the 1st Cook with food preparation and set up stations for each service period.
• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, ensuring top‑quality presentation and timing.
• Maintain cleanliness of preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces to uphold safe and sanitary practices.
• Monitor food freshness, rotate stock, and verify production charts are followed.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately and keep records of consumption and inventory.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in culinary or food‑and‑beverage roles.
• Previous experience as a cook in a similar hotel or fine‑dining setting.
• Ability to work quickly under pressure, stand for 2‑3 hours, lift up to 50 lb, and perform physical tasks such as bending and squatting.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Understanding of kitchen impact on financial goals and adherence to safety policies.

Required skills
