Director of Talent & Culture

About the role

The Director of Talent & Culture leads the people strategy for two luxury resorts in Puerto Rico, translating brand standards into daily practice and ensuring a fair, safe, and legally compliant workplace. Reporting to senior leadership, the role owns the full associate lifecycle and partners with the Executive Committee to align workforce planning with commercial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite culture carrier, embedding LionGrove Service Pillars, Vision, Mission and Leadership Guiding Principles.
• Lead and develop People & Culture teams at both resorts, setting standards, decision rights and accountability.
• Own talent acquisition from workforce planning to onboarding and 90‑day retention.
• Design and facilitate training programs, including Luxury Basics, service standards and leadership development.
• Prepare, sustain and audit readiness for Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Diamond standards.
• Drive leadership development, performance management, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
• Handle associate relations, conduct workplace investigations and ensure compliance with Puerto Rico and U.S. employment law.
• Administer total rewards, compensation benchmarking, benefits and communicate rewards clearly.
• Provide HR data and reporting to make people value visible to leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years leading HR/Talent & Culture in a hotel or resort.
• Proven experience with luxury or upper‑upscale standards and Forbes Travel Guide compliance.
• Full professional fluency in Spanish and English.
• Working knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. employment law (FMLA, OSHA, ADA, wage‑and‑hour).
• Valid driver’s license, insurable record and willingness to travel regularly between the two resorts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS and talent systems such as ADP.
• Strong data analysis, reporting and analytical skills.
