I&C/Electrical Construction Superintendent

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced I&C/Electrical Construction Superintendent to lead daily scheduling, planning, and execution of construction activities in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on safety, quality, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams to deliver state‑of‑the‑art facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate in planning, design, construction and commissioning of industrial, pharma, biotech and utility projects.
• Lead field crews and subcontractors, coordinate daily construction activities, and submit daily reports.
• Facilitate walk‑downs, constructability reviews, and safety meetings; ensure compliance with JHA revisions and permit‑to‑work systems.
• Monitor productivity, schedule, quality and safety performance, and resolve field issues with engineering and project management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of construction site experience, including roles as foreman, superintendent or construction manager.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and subcontractors on complex projects.
• Bilingual English/Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Maximo or similar equipment maintenance software.
• Experience with HVAC, instrumentation, automation and electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, ControlLogix).
• Ability to read and work with electrical and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs, loop, wiring, one‑line diagrams).
• Understanding of codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, ISA, OSHA and GMP where applicable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, MS Project and Bluebeam.
