Portfolio Accounting Manager

About the role

The Portfolio Accounting Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position in San Juan, Puerto Rico. You will lead the financial accounting and reporting for Casa Collection’s portfolio of boutique guest houses and hotels, delivering accurate, timely, and decision‑ready financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting function across all hospitality properties, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and hospitality‑specific ledgers.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements and reporting.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, supervising the dedicated team member.
• Manage cash‑flow reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis in partnership with leadership.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, procedures and segregation of duties.
• Ensure compliance with Puerto Rico accounting, tax, regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with property General Managers and ownership to provide clear financial insights and support strategic decisions.
• Leverage accounting technology, automation and AI‑enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or similar certification is a plus).
• Professional accounting or finance experience in Puerto Rico, with practical knowledge of local tax and regulatory requirements.
• Proven hospitality accounting experience, including room revenue, guest ledgers, payment processing, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and multi‑property reporting.
• Strong financial reporting skills – preparation and review of balance sheets, P&L, cash‑flow statements and management dashboards.
• Solid analytical ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience managing fixed assets, capitalization policies, tracking and depreciation schedules.
• High level of technological fluency and curiosity about emerging automation and AI tools.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, financial modeling).
• QuickBooks accounting software.
• Hospitality property management systems (e.g., Cloudbeds) and point‑of‑sale platforms.
• Payment processing and clearing platforms.
• Business intelligence or financial reporting tools.
• AI‑enabled automation tools for workflow improvement.
