Principal Systems/Software Engineer – Cloud & On-Premise Development

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a seasoned technical leader to design, develop, and troubleshoot cloud‑native and on‑premise security management platforms. The role is hybrid, requiring on‑site work two days per week at the San Juan office.

Key responsibilities

• Own multiple core software modules end‑to‑end, delivering high‑quality code in a fast‑paced environment.
• Lead, mentor and grow junior engineers, fostering best practices across the team.
• Define organization‑wide architectures and methodologies for multi‑platform software systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and partner solutions, integrating them into the product roadmap.
• Review designs for compliance with standards, providing feedback to improve quality and reduce risk.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of technical impact.
• Proven ability to work in globally distributed teams across time zones.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
