Project Manager – Development Phase

About the role

Coquí Power is seeking a Development Phase Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of cross‑functional initiatives for its energy infrastructure portfolio in Puerto Rico. The role focuses on environmental evaluation, permitting, and preliminary design development to move projects toward construction readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site selection, environmental and technical study programs, and associated permitting workstreams, including strategy development and agency coordination.
• Prepare and maintain integrated project schedules, critical paths, milestone trackers, and portfolio‑level reporting, escalating risks as needed.
• Coordinate with engineering, interconnection, and offtake teams to optimize project designs within permitting constraints.
• Work with consultants, environmental specialists, and land‑use advisors to prepare accurate permit applications and documentation.
• Serve as the daily coordination point for internal teams and Puerto Rico permitting authorities, tracking compliance and maintaining auditable records.
• Identify permitting, regulatory, schedule, and stakeholder risks; propose mitigation plans and communicate issues to the Director of Development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, construction management, business, or related field.
• At least five years of experience in project development, permitting, or project management for energy or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop permitting strategies and coordinate environmental and technical studies, preferably with knowledge of Puerto Rico processes.
• Fluency in English and Spanish and ability to work onsite in Puerto Rico.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using project management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, stakeholder management, and critical thinking.
