Security and Safety Officer

About the role

Legends Global is seeking a Security and Safety Officer to protect the Puerto Rico Convention Center’s assets and ensure a safe environment for guests, tenants, vendors and contractors. The role combines security duties with occupational health and safety responsibilities, supporting event operations and compliance with OSHA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to security and safety calls, coordinating with local law enforcement as needed.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols, identify and correct safety, security or fire hazards.
• Monitor CCTV, fire‑control, radio communications and illumination systems.
• Manage loading‑dock traffic and crowd safety during large events.
• Write detailed incident reports, investigate occurrences and support HR with claims.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• In‑depth knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and safety legislation.
• Minimum two years of related security or safety experience.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in safety management or a related field (preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience operating CCTV and fire‑control monitoring systems.
• Use of radio communications equipment for incident response.
• Familiarity with safety management information systems (preferred).
