Senior AI and Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior AI/ML & Innovation Engineer to lead initiatives across its Hybrid Cloud portfolio in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The role is hybrid, with about two days per week spent in an HPE office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and program software algorithms that structure, analyze and leverage structured and unstructured data, and build descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive models.
• Apply and scale deep learning technologies, and use machine learning and statistical modeling to improve product and system performance, data management, quality and accuracy.
• Research and experiment with the latest AI and ML techniques, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, efficient and robust solutions.
• Develop, train and deploy machine learning models, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning and integration with existing systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level team members, organize design reviews, and lead meetings and presentations to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, machine learning, AI or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 4-7 years of experience.
• Strong mathematical and statistical foundation, including linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, R or Java, with production-level code and version control (e.g. GitHub).
• Deep understanding of machine learning and deep learning, including neural networks, transfer learning and generative models.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), open source, Linux, DevOps and SRE.
• Frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn and Keras are a plus.
