Software Engineer – Test & Automation

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Software Engineer focused on test and automation for networking products. The role is onsite in San Juan and involves validating, testing, troubleshooting, and improving networking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and maintain test plans, cases and validation procedures for networking products.
• Perform feature, system, integration and regression testing to ensure product quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex networking and software issues.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using Python.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Development and Quality Engineering teams.
• Participate in validation of reference designs and customer deployment scenarios.
• Identify, document, reproduce and track defects through resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with typically 5+ years of experience in networking, validation or quality engineering.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with global cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Python programming and automation scripting.
• Software testing and validation methodologies.
• Experience with Linux development environments.
• Networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, routing and switching concepts.
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF or MPLS is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and test automation pipelines.
