Civil Engineer – Project Engineer (GS-12)

About the role

As a Project Engineer, you will act as a technical and administrative leader for complex construction projects administered by the USACE Caribbean District. You will coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers and partner agencies to deliver infrastructure that protects and strengthens Caribbean communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative leadership for complex construction projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, project managers, and partner agencies.
• Ensure project success throughout design, execution, closeout, and turnover phases.
• Support Military Construction (MILCON) and Civil Works initiatives across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must meet federal civil service qualifications for a GS-12 Civil Engineer position.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification for Selective Service Registration.
