Director, Inbound Strategic Sourcing Operations

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Director, Inbound Strategic Sourcing Operations, an onsite position based at an HPE office. The role leads the global Inbound Strategic Sourcing Operations organization, with accountability for operational performance, strategic alignment and integration across HPE operations. It defines global and regional supply chain strategies and oversees supply continuity, supplier performance, Buy/Sell execution, HPE-owned inventory, shortage mitigation, supplier onboarding and the transformation of the inbound sourcing operating model. The role governs about $10 billion in annual spend and about $9 billion in invoices processed through RSPs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a global team for Buy/Sell operations, end-to-end tactical procurement, supplier enablement and operational governance across commodities and regions, including memory, SSD, CPU, GPUs, HDDs and silicon suppliers.
• Own supplier performance management, define and communicate supplier scorecards, quality, delivery and operational metrics to executive leadership, GCMs and SRM teams.
• Serve as the approval authority for Buy/Sell opportunities that mitigate shortages and secure strategic component availability, overseeing pricing, SKU setup, supplier onboarding, warehouse strategy and utilization.
• Monitor supplier financial health, credit capacity, liquidity, payment exposure, credit holds and SBLC constraints, and lead mitigation actions; ensure procurement and financial controls meet SOX requirements.
• Work with Global Trade Compliance, Legal, Finance and Logistics on import, export, sanctions, customs and trade-control compliance.
• Lead ISSO Business Continuity Planning, assessing geographic, logistics, financial and compliance risks and coordinating recovery plans with suppliers.
• Act as escalation point for shortages, constrained materials, inventory positioning, backlog recovery and alternate sourcing, protecting revenue and customer commitments.
• Drive transformation through simplification, automation, standardization and governance of supply-gap processes, sourcing enhancements and system upgrades, and develop new sourcing and planning workflows with business process owners.
• Develop and coach leaders, set succession plans, and represent ISSO in executive reviews and business-planning forums.

Required profile

• First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in supply chain, with progressive people leadership experience.
• Experience managing large teams and/or organizations.
• Significant supply chain and operations background, preferably across multiple disciplines such as manufacturing, planning and logistics.
