Full-Stack AI Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is looking for a Full-Stack AI Engineer in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The role is hybrid, with about two days per week spent in an HPE office. You will develop and deploy scalable application features and machine learning models in cloud-based environments, while designing production-ready AI features and building seamless web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead backend development in Python (Django) and frontend/UI in React.
• Develop, deploy and maintain AI/ML features (ML models, NLP pipelines, AI APIs) for production use.
• Integrate AI-driven functionalities such as generative AI, chatbot frameworks and recommender systems into web and cloud-native applications.
• Design REST APIs and maintain PostgreSQL schemas.
• Build and automate CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git and Artifactory, and support containerization and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud and data engineering teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with Python (Django) and React.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and integrating AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI, NLP, LLMs or machine learning applications.
• Strong grasp of machine learning fundamentals, NLP and algorithm implementation.
• Experience architecting AI features delivered via APIs or microservices.
• Experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines, and hands-on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Nice to have: certifications in AI/ML, AWS, Azure or Kubernetes; experience deploying large language models or generative AI solutions; familiarity with Helm, Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code; secure AI pipeline delivery, artifact governance and compliance workflows.
