Health Educator

About the role

The Health Educator designs and implements educational interventions that promote preventive care, healthy lifestyles, and condition management as part of the company’s Wellness Program.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop individual and group educational interventions based on population needs, using evidence‑based practices and current clinical guidelines.
• Create and maintain metrics and monitoring processes to evaluate and continuously improve intervention plans.
• Develop, evaluate, and update educational materials aligned with program objectives and target populations.
• Deliver interventions in person, by phone, or virtually across multiple locations and document them in the electronic clinical management system.
• Prepare metric reports, identify member needs, and facilitate referrals to clinical programs or external resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Community Health, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in health promotion, community outreach, or health education, preferably in the health insurance industry.
• Valid Health Educator License from the Puerto Rico Department of Health and a Puerto Rico driver’s license; CHES credential is a plus.
• Intermediate proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
• Willingness to travel around the island for field work and educational initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic clinical management systems, specifically Trucare.
• Experience using metrics and reporting tools to track program outcomes.
