Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) – FAA Training Simulator

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) to join SAIC’s Controller Training Solutions team at the San Juan CERAP (ZSU) in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The RPO supports FAA air‑traffic‑controller training by acting as the pilot and other controllers within a high‑fidelity simulation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the simulated radar display and voice communication system to replicate pilot actions and remote ATC facilities.
• Receive voice commands from student controllers, input appropriate entries, and translate displayed information into correct ATC terminology.
• Respond to students via the voice communication system using proper phraseology.
• Complete required classroom and laboratory certifications covering airspace, procedures, and all RPO positions.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, manuals, and to communicate clearly and be understood.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Basic familiarity with tablets, notebooks, and related applications.
• Basic experience with pilot/controller communications and phraseology.
