Systems/Software Testing Engineer II - Cloud & On-Premise

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Software Testing Engineer to validate its cloud and on-premises security management platforms. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week working from an HPE office. It covers end-to-end quality validation for the Security Director Cloud and Security Director On-Prem products, designing and running functional and regression tests across cloud-native and virtualized deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Test end-to-end systems built with microservices in Kubernetes environments hosted in the AWS public cloud and deployed on VMware and KVM hypervisors.
• Validate browser compatibility, end-user workflows and traffic across supported web browsers.
• Verify administrative workflows, document test scenarios and check that system logs are generated correctly and accurately.
• Develop, maintain and run automated test suites in Python and Playwright, integrate them into continuous integration and fix failures.
• Identify and track defects, prepare test reports and quality documentation, and work with development teams to validate fixes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Two to four years of hands-on experience testing networking and security products in cloud or virtualized environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols and security mechanisms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong Python programming and scripting skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, IPv4 and IPv6.
• Working knowledge of core AWS services and Kubernetes, container technologies and microservices.
• Proficiency in Python and UI test automation with Playwright.
• Hands-on experience with UI test automation tools and frameworks, especially Playwright.
• AWS experience for application deployment, testing or troubleshooting is preferred; networking or security certifications are advantageous.
