Equipment Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician, Equipment will perform corrective and preventive maintenance, calibration, programming and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment used in pharmaceutical production. The role supports reliable operation of high‑technology systems while complying with cGMP, FDA, OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble, replace defective electrical, mechanical, control and instrumentation components on production equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on PLC‑controlled systems, electro‑pneumatic devices and HVAC/utilities.
• Read and interpret P&ID, ladder diagrams, schematics and equipment manuals to execute repairs and modifications.
• Calibrate, certify and document instrumentation according to cGMP calibration procedures and CMMS records.
• Support Control Engineers with PLC troubleshooting and contribute to reliability engineering activities such as RCM and RCA.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or related technology.
• Minimum 5 years experience with electrical/electronic systems, PLCs, controls and instrumentation; 10 years in industrial mechanics, HVAC or utilities.
• Puerto Rico Electrician’s License preferred.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and rotate to third shift after training.
