AI Software Developer III

About the role

HPE is looking for a Full‑Stack Engineer to design and implement end‑to‑end AI‑enabled applications. The position is hybrid, requiring an average of two days per week in the San Juan office.

Key responsibilities

• Build responsive front‑end UI components using React or Angular and develop backend services with Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js (Express/NestJS).
• Implement REST/gRPC APIs, data models, CRUD flows, pagination, authentication, telemetry, and integration with LLM or RAG services.
• Write unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests, ensure type safety, add observability hooks, and optimise performance and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), containerise services with Docker, and manage feature flags and secrets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 4‑7 years of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with designers, product owners, QA and senior engineers.

Required skills

• Front‑end: React (preferred), Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, Tailwind, Material UI, accessibility.
• Back‑end: Python, FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, Express, NestJS, REST, gRPC, OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Data: SQL (Postgres, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), ORMs (SQLAlchemy, Prisma).
• Testing: pytest, Jest, integration/contract testing.
• DevOps: Docker, Docker‑Compose, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD best practices.
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP basics; observability (logs, metrics, traces).
• AI integration (nice‑to‑have): LLM/agent APIs, RAG/vector search, prompt logging, token/cost controls.
