Director Software Engineering – Cloud Security

About the role

HPE Networking is seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead cloud security for large‑scale AWS and GCP environments. This senior technical leader will define and execute security operations strategy, build high‑performing teams, and ensure the stability and reliability of AI‑powered SaaS platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead a unified cloud security operations strategy across SaaS products.
• Partner with corporate security, engineering, product, legal and executive leadership to align security priorities.
• Maintain technical depth to evaluate designs, review architecture, investigate incidents and audit IAM configurations.
• Provide executive communication on security posture, risks and incident response.

Required profile

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years leading multiple teams or managers.
• Proven decision‑maker able to act decisively during critical incidents.
• Excellent communicator capable of engaging engineers, executives and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Deep expertise securing AWS and/or GCP cloud services.
• Experience securing Kubernetes infrastructure and virtual machines using Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong technical background with ability to read/write code (Python preferred).
• Knowledge of encryption standards, IAM, RBAC, security protocols, WAF and CIS benchmarking.
