Embedded Software Engineer I – Hybrid (Aguadilla, PR)

About the role

Join the Flight Management & Controls team at Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering Center in Puerto Rico as an Embedded Software Engineer I. You will work on design, development, integration, and verification of Military Avionics solutions in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, coding, and testing.
• Collaborate in an agile, cross‑functional team to meet program milestones.
• Coordinate with system/software engineers to deliver Next‑Gen FMS using Collins engineering processes.
• Travel up to 10% of the year as needed.

Required profile

• STEM degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required for program access.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Programming languages: C/C++, Python, Ada 95.
• Communication protocols: ARINC 429, MIL‑STD 1553.
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux, LynxOS.
• Tools/processes: GitLab, SVN, Jira, JAMA, Confluence, DOORS.
• Familiarity with RTCA/DO‑178 certification and Agile/Waterfall methods.
