EMEA Regional Test Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring an EMEA Regional Test Engineer in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role is hybrid, with an expectation of working about 2 days per week from an HPE office. It covers planning and arranging the labor, schedules, equipment and diagnostics needed to test and evaluate standard and special devices, and includes leading test projects and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, equipment and diagnostics for testing and evaluating devices, and specify tests and test-area parameters.
• Resolve and support test-related issues across the end-to-end manufacturing process, and escalate them early to global teams and R&D.
• Read and understand customer intent documents for each deal, and recommend repairs or replacements from a hardware perspective using Linux test output logs.
• Support a zero-defect culture and First Pass Yield metrics.
• Develop and implement test plans, schedules and requirements for new and existing designs, and lead outsourced and in-house testing resources, test tooling, fixtures, scripts, automation and apparatuses.
• Collaborate with management, internal and outsourced testing and development partners on testing status, progress, results and issue resolution.
• Lead a team of test engineers and partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality test solutions for complex products, and mentor less-experienced staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 4-6 years of experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication in English and the local language.

Required skills

• Experience with testing tools, automation and software packages.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows-based server services.
• Knowledge of scripting languages.
• Understanding of material properties, hardware and electrical component design, and of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies.
