Engineer III – Cybersecurity R&D

About the role

Join HPE's Junos Cybersecurity R&D team to develop secure networking products. This hybrid position requires working on‑site two days per week in San Juan.

Key responsibilities

• Support security certifications such as NIST FIPS 140, Common Criteria and EUCRA.
• Develop product security capabilities including threat modelling, static and dynamic code analysis, penetration testing, hardware assessments and AI‑enhanced vulnerability management.
• Adopt new cybersecurity technologies, contribute to the roadmap and execute its initiatives.
• Provide consulting to engineering managers, platform teams and product line managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong ability to adapt to rapidly evolving cybersecurity challenges.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles and networking security protocols (TLS, SSH, IPsec).
• Proficiency in C (preferred) and Python; familiarity with Rust is a plus.
• Experience driving product security certifications (FIPS 140, Common Criteria) and EU CRA.
• Hands‑on experience using AI for vulnerability discovery and management.
