Global Commodity Manager – Optics

About the role

The Global Commodity Manager (GCM) for Optics will develop and execute commodity and supply‑chain strategies that drive time‑to‑market, continuity of supply and cost reduction for HPE's Optics business. This hybrid role requires working on‑site about two days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage optics commodities, including optical hardware systems, pluggable optical and copper modules, and cables.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) for optics, guiding suppliers and internal engineering through selection and qualification.
• Drive sourcing activities, supplier onboarding, RFI/RFQ processes, and contract negotiations.
• Conduct Supplier Business Reviews and align supplier road‑maps with HPE requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, PLM, and global buyers to meet regulatory compliance and TL9000 audit standards.
• Monitor industry trends, mitigate supply‑chain risks, and identify strategic projects for the optics portfolio.

Required profile

• University degree (first‑level).
• 3+ years experience in procurement or supply‑chain functions.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical and technical aptitude with experience building cost models and market intelligence.
• Fluent English communication skills.
