Global Commodity Manager - Packaging

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Global Commodity Manager for Packaging in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role is hybrid, with an average of two days per week spent in an HPE office. It covers sourcing strategies, supplier management and supply chain coordination for HPE Networking packaging commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver sourcing strategies and drive supplier excellence on quality, cost, agility and time-to-market.
• Understand HPE's industry needs and build strategic partnerships, and align suppliers with HPE Networking technology roadmaps.
• Partner with suppliers on sustainable packaging and green packaging implementation for new programs, and follow regulations and compliance requirements.
• Define supplier selection criteria, select the supply base, develop a preferred supplier list and manage the approved vendor list (AVL).
• Negotiate NDAs, master purchase agreements, statements of work and joint development agreements, and score suppliers in business reviews.
• Lead executive negotiations on cost reductions, pricing and terms, and drive value engineering with multi-functional teams.
• Manage supplier risks in corporate strategy, finance, compliance and operations, and stay informed on commodity market indicators.

Required profile

• First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Typically 6-10 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing; 8-10 years in global commodity management, manufacturing or management, with networking experience a plus.
• Direct experience managing packaging or mechanical commodities is a must; broader sourcing experience is an advantage.
• Proven experience with CEM, ODM and JDM manufacturing models.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
