Graduate Software Engineer (Systems/Software Engineering)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a graduate Systems/Software Engineer in Aguadilla. The role is designed as hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent working from an HPE office. It covers designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software for new products and enhancements, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools.

Key responsibilities

• Code enhancements, updates and changes for subsystems of systems software such as operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases and Internet tools.
• Run established test plans and protocols, identify, log and debug assigned issues.
• Build relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software system design and development.
• Work as part of a project team of software systems engineers and partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Typically 0-2 years of experience.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platforms.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.

Required skills

• Experience or understanding of software systems design tools and languages.
• Understanding of basic testing, coding and debugging procedures.
