Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will attend to machinery at the terminal in San Juan, Puerto Rico, ensuring equipment is in good working order and proactively fixing potential problems to meet production goals. The role operates 24/7, requiring physical activity such as moving, lifting boxes and equipment, and standing for prolonged periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and organize work activities, managing multiple tasks simultaneously within set deadlines.
• Document equipment records daily, making administrative decisions to complete project tasks on time.
• Use and develop the Fiix computerized maintenance system and promote its adoption.
• Implement and monitor work planning and coordination systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory and prepare material lists for scheduled maintenance.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in identifying critical points and suggesting modifications to extend equipment life and reduce costs.
• Utilize hydraulic and pneumatic devices to manage systems across multiple projects efficiently.
• Develop repair and maintenance programs to boost productivity, quality, and production efficiency.
• Perform machine and equipment maintenance, execute work orders, troubleshoot, repair, and install new machines.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with shift teams and maintain communication during daily terminal operations.
• Other responsibilities as directed by the company.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in a process plant or similar terminal.
• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive maintenance experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, and valves.
• Deep knowledge of repair activities, standard procedures, electrical control wiring, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Proficiency with E‑Maintenance systems, electrical/electronics, and industrial control systems.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
