About the role
Build your engineering career in NDT & Mechanical Integrity at Scientific Safety Alliance (SSA). The NDT Drafter & Inspection Specialist combines technical drafting and engineering documentation with hands‑on field inspection activities. Recent graduates and entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and update technical drawings, including tank drawings, piping isometrics, chillers and heat exchangers, based on field inspection data.
- Review inspection data, measurements, photographs and field findings; prepare tables and technical documentation for inspection reports.
- Perform calculations associated with inspection findings and testing results, identifying missing or inconsistent information.
- Support the preparation and organization of final client deliverables and maintain accurate technical records and KPI tracking.
- Assist with NDT inspection activities such as Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ECT), STI equipment inspections, and settlement and roundness testing.
- Prepare inspection‑related calculations, technical documentation, and inspection reports in accordance with training, certification and authorization levels.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer and project sites.
- Willingness to work in both office and industrial/field environments.
- Readiness to complete company‑required NDT training and certifications.
Required skills
- AutoCAD or similar technical drafting software.
- Microsoft Excel, Word and Office.
- Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT) and Eddy Current Testing (ECT).
- STI equipment inspections and settlement/roundness testing.
- Technical drafting and engineering documentation.
