Network & Communications Administrator

About the role

The Network & Communications Administrator will ensure the availability, performance and security of voice and data communications across Island Finance’s branches, offices and cloud environments. The role combines hands‑on network engineering with operational monitoring and incident response in a regulated financial setting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and optimize LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN, enterprise Wi‑Fi, MPLS/LTE links and VPN connections (site‑to‑site, remote‑access, OCI/AWS).
• Manage Fortinet firewalls/IPS, security policies, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer and load‑balancing/ADC platforms.
• Monitor network performance with NPM/NTA, NetFlow, SNMP and Syslog; respond to Tier II/III incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive remediation.
• Support VoIP/SIP/UC platforms, enforce QoS for voice quality and integrate with contact‑center solutions.
• Maintain core services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, IPAM) and ensure compliance with ITIL change, incident and problem processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience administering multi‑site networks in a regulated environment (financial, telecom or healthcare).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with availability for on‑call duties and site visits.
• Valid driver’s license.

• LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS.
• Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer (NSE 4/7).
• Enterprise Wi‑Fi controllers, DNS/DHCP/NTP/IPAM.
• OCI and AWS cloud connectivity (IPsec/SSL VPN, FastConnect/Direct Connect).
• VoIP/SIP, SBC, UC platforms, voice QoS (MOS, jitter, latency).
• Network monitoring tools: SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow/IPFIX, NPM/NTA.
• ITIL v4 change and incident management processes.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+ certifications.
