Outage & Material Planner

About the role

The Outage & Material Planner will support the maintenance team in coordinating outages at AES Puerto Rico’s Guayama power plant, ensuring system integrity, reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planned transmission, generation and interconnection maintenance and construction projects/outages with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a 5‑year outage schedule, combine outages where possible to optimise availability, reliability, safety and economy.
• Create and manage work orders, requisitions and purchase requirements for OPEX and CAPEX maintenance activities.
• Lead annual review of outage management roles, develop tools for planning, scheduling and reporting, and support CapEx committee meetings.
• Participate in emergency response efforts and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in planning and/or maintenance.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
• OSHA certification and intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
