Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship – Earn While You Learn

About the role

Join Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice and work directly with customers in a patient‑centric environment. You will receive on‑the‑job training and support to become a certified pharmacy technician while earning a wage.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with prescription processing, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
• Handle cash register duties, collect and manage cash, and provide excellent customer service.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Perform clerical tasks such as processing third‑party claims and handling telephone inquiries.
• Help with clinical services like sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.

Required profile

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred: at least six months retail experience and prior work with Walgreens.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems.
• Cash register operation.
• Basic math for accurate medication counting and measuring.
• Inventory control knowledge.
