Principal Engineer - AI Architect

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a senior technical leader to design and oversee end‑to‑end AI systems that align with business objectives. The role bridges strategy and execution, ensuring scalability, security and compliance across AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end AI pipelines from data ingestion to model deployment and UI.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, data engineers and MLOps teams to ensure production readiness.
• Define AI roadmap, identify high‑impact use cases and assess ROI.
• Architect data pipelines, model lifecycle, orchestration and integration with enterprise applications.
• Implement CI/CD for ML pipelines, monitoring and security controls.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists, translate business requirements into technical tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills to work with cross‑functional teams and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, Java, Node.js, API design, microservices.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (desirable).
• AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face.
• MLOps and containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, agent‑based systems, data pipelines, feature stores and vector databases.
• Security and compliance for AI systems.
