Principal Quality Assurance Engineer – Generative AI & LLM Platforms

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a senior quality engineer to own the quality strategy and hands‑on validation for enterprise products built with generative AI, large language models, distributed systems, and modern React‑based interfaces. The role blends deep software testing expertise with AI evaluation to ensure secure, reliable, high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define risk‑based test strategies, quality gates, release criteria, and traceability across AI, UI, API, cloud, and network layers.
• Build reusable Python/pytest frameworks, execute performance, scale, reliability, and end‑to‑end testing with CI/CD integration.
• Validate model quality, groundedness, safety, privacy, latency, cost, and React UI accessibility and security.
• Test AWS deployments, distributed system behavior, scaling, failover, disaster recovery, and adverse network conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or related field.
• 12+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a lead role.
• Proven ability to influence architecture for testability and mentor cross‑functional teams.

• Python, pytest, CI/CD pipelines.
• React, web accessibility, cross‑browser testing.
• API testing tools: JMeter, SoapUI, Postman.
• GenAI evaluation tools: LangSmith, LangGraph, Langfuse.
• Networking protocols: IP, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, MPLS, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC, SNMP, LLDP.
• Traffic simulators: Ixia, Spirent.
• AWS services, Datadog monitoring.
