Process Engineer – Dry Product Operations

About the role

Lilly is seeking a Process Engineer to support Dry Product Operations (DPO) in Puerto Rico. The role ensures efficient, compliant manufacturing of solid dosage forms and contributes to delivering life‑changing medicines to patients.

Key responsibilities

• Act as equipment/asset steward for DPO, maintaining technical information and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Commercialization Team to ready equipment for new product runs.
• Develop and monitor process and capacity indicators, identifying performance issues and improvement opportunities.
• Provide training on SOPs and serve as content expert for manufacturing procedures.
• Lead troubleshooting, investigations, CAPA, and equipment‑related deviations, employing root‑cause analysis, FMEA, and problem‑solving techniques.
• Supply technical expertise for equipment design, qualification, operation, maintenance, and reliability.

Required profile

• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically dry product operations.
• EIT license and membership in CIAPR.
• Bilingual English/Spanish with strong written and oral communication.
• Willingness to support 24/7 operations and travel within and outside Puerto Rico.

Required skills

• Process equipment expertise for solid dosage manufacturing.
• Dry product operations knowledge (wet granulation, roller compaction, tablet compression, etc.).
• Troubleshooting, CAPA management, root‑cause analysis, FMEA.
• Process modeling and data analysis.
• Technical writing for SOPs and reports.
