Product Packaging Engineer

About the role

The Product Packaging Engineer designs, develops, qualifies, and manages packaging solutions for new and existing HPE products. This hybrid role works on‑site two days a week and partners with product development, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, compliance and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead packaging design, development, qualification and implementation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Conduct shock, vibration, compression and drop testing and incorporate results into designs.
• Drive sustainability initiatives by increasing recyclable materials, eliminating unnecessary plastics and reducing packaging size, weight and CO₂ emissions.
• Optimize carton configurations, palletization and container utilization to lower logistics costs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing sites and suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure efficient assembly, pack‑out and shipping.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4‑6 years of experience in packaging engineering for technology or electronics products.
• Proven ability to manage multiple packaging projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of corrugated, molded fiber, foam, plastics and sustainable packaging materials.
• Expertise in package testing, validation and transportation performance requirements.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause investigation abilities.
• Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools.
