Production Planner

About the role

The Production Planner will manage production and inventory for assigned pharmaceutical products, ensuring high service levels and product availability while keeping inventory within approved investment targets. The role balances production schedules, optimises plant resources and collaborates with cross‑functional teams such as Supply Chain, Customer Service, Marketing, Forecasting and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) by analysing demand forecasts, inventory levels and capacity constraints.
• Lead discussions in Pre‑S&OP and S&OP meetings for assigned SKUs and coordinate capacity analysis.
• Prepare monthly service‑level, back‑order and inventory reports and support Tier‑2 Operations and Tier‑1 Supply Chain meetings.
• Generate detailed weekly production plans that align with MPS and inventory expectations.
• Identify improvement opportunities, lead implementation projects and monitor schedule adherence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing material‑management experience, including at least 3 years in pharmaceutical production planning.
• APICS certification and Lean/Six Sigma qualification preferred.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English (oral and written).

Required skills

• APICS and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• cGMP knowledge.
• Experience with MRP, SCIMS, Manugistics and RCS systems.
• Production and capacity planning, shop‑floor control, distribution planning and inventory control.
