Research Education Core Coordinator

About the role

The Ponce Health Sciences University‑Ponce Research Institute is seeking a Research Education Core Coordinator to manage the day‑to‑day operations of a collaborative training program with the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing training activities for undergraduate, graduate, medical, and clinical trainees while serving as the primary communication link between the two institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate all aspects of the training program’s daily operation, including scheduling and execution of seminars and workshops.
• Act as the central point of communication between PHSU‑PRI, Moffitt investigators, trainees, and local educational and research partners.
• Organize and host invited seminar speakers and manage related logistics.
• Collect, organize, and maintain trainee records, surveys, and evaluations.
• Assist in preparing progress reports and the monthly REC report in collaboration with program managers.
• Coordinate with Moffitt counterparts to ensure effective planning, execution, and evaluation of training activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with prior experience in academic program administration.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• Excellent writing, analytical, and data‑abstraction skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and clinicians.
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, multitask, and occasionally work evenings.
• Willingness to travel to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa every other year.
