Senior AI Software Developer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior AI Software Developer to own end‑to‑end delivery of AI features, from design through production, while raising engineering standards and mentoring teammates.

Key responsibilities

• Translate high‑level designs into component contracts, APIs and service boundaries; implement LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, agents and prompt strategies.
• Fine‑tune models, build evaluation harnesses, run A/B tests and conduct error analysis to improve accuracy, latency and robustness.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines, curate datasets with metadata, implement vector indexing and enforce data governance (PII handling, consent, auditability).
• Containerize workloads (Docker), orchestrate deployments (Kubernetes/Helm), own CI/CD for ML and maintain model registries and experiment tracking.
• Develop micro‑services, async inference paths, integrate with enterprise authentication, observability and logging; write unit, integration and e2e tests.
• Instrument metrics, logs and traces; define SLOs, optimise inference (batching, caching, quantisation) and implement safety guardrails.
• Apply secure coding practices, manage secrets, ensure compliance with data residency, consent and IP policies.
• Review designs and PRs, coach junior engineers and coordinate with AI architects, data engineers, QA and product teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning or a related quantitative discipline.
• 7‑10 years of professional experience delivering AI/ML solutions in production.
• Strong networking knowledge and ability to work in a hybrid environment (average 2 days onsite per week).

• Vector databases: FAISS, Milvus, pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate.
• Observability: metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards.
