Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Reporting

About the role

The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Reporting will provide advanced financial analysis, portfolio insights, and performance reporting to support budgeting, forecasting, KPI monitoring, and executive decision‑making. The role requires interpreting complex financial and operational data and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate management reports, evaluate portfolio results, investigate variances, identify trends, and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, reforecasts, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and monitor actuals versus plan.
• Develop automated reporting tools using advanced Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI dashboards to improve visibility and data accuracy.
• Extract, transform, validate, reconcile, and document large datasets from Oracle, Asset Suite, and other internal systems, resolving data issues with IT/Finance.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance Business Partners, Technology, and other teams to align metrics, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Present strategic insights to senior leadership through clear executive‑level presentations and recommendations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, process improvement, and business strategic support.
• 6+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related fields, preferably in a utility or regulated industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex analytical projects or mentor junior analysts.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate.
• Expertise in Excel, including Power Query and Power Pivot.
• Experience with Oracle EBS and capital project accounting.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities for large datasets.
