Senior Software Developer Cloud & Distributed Systems

About the role

HPE is seeking a passionate Senior Software Developer to join its Cloud Engineering team and help build the next generation of Mist’s cloud‑based network configuration and reporting platform. The role is hybrid, requiring an average of two days per week on‑site at an HPE office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, fault‑tolerant distributed services running in the cloud.
• Develop microservices and backend components using Python, Go, and Java, including event‑driven stream processing systems.
• Build and evolve real‑time and batch data processing pipelines for AI‑driven enterprise networking.
• Own end‑to‑end cloud services, database and Elasticsearch implementations, and lead technical discovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Write high‑quality unit, integration, and functional tests to enable safe refactoring and continuous delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6‑10 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• 2+ years building event‑driven stream processing systems (Kafka, Storm, Flink or similar).
• 4+ years working with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• 3+ years with big‑data frameworks such as Apache Spark or Databricks.
• 3+ years building or operating distributed systems using cloud‑native technologies or Kubernetes.
