Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is looking for a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join its hybrid team in San Juan. You will design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency across our platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and enforce best‑practice standards.
• Optimize AWS and GCP environments for cost‑effectiveness, security, and performance.
• Develop internal tools, improve CI/CD pipelines with FluxCD and Jenkins, and address container image vulnerabilities.
• Build and maintain Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) aligned with CIS and STIG benchmarks.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stacks.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents and fine‑tune distributed systems such as Apache Kafka and Cassandra.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in Infra Ops, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong Linux expertise, especially with Debian‑based distributions.
• Proven experience with AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or Golang.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
