Senior Technical Marketing Engineer

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a senior networking expert to lead technical initiatives in routing, switching, network architecture, automation, telemetry and AI-driven operations. The role is hybrid, requiring on‑site presence about two days per week in San Juan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic technical projects focused on networking, automation, telemetry, assurance and AI‑driven operations.
• Design, build and maintain proof‑of‑concepts, lab environments, reference architectures and technical demonstrations.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales and Services to influence product development and solution strategy.
• Validate end‑to‑end solutions involving networking infrastructure, automation platforms, telemetry systems, APIs and AI capabilities.
• Develop technical content, demonstrations and enablement materials for customers, partners and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in networking, network architecture, solutions engineering or technical marketing.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams and influence product direction.
• Strong customer‑facing experience with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and mentor other engineers.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in routing, switching and network architecture for service provider, enterprise or data‑center environments.
• Hands‑on network automation using Python, Linux, APIs and infrastructure programmability.
• Experience with network telemetry technologies such as gNMI, YANG, streaming telemetry and API‑driven architectures.
• Knowledge of network management, assurance, observability and AI‑assisted operations.
• Familiarity with Juniper networking, cloud‑native networking, containers and generative AI is a plus.
