Site Reliability Engineer Staff

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud infrastructure and deployment systems. This hybrid role requires working on average two days per week from the San Juan office.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and enforce best practices.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop internal tools to support cloud platform operations.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines using FluxCD and Jenkins.
• Address container image vulnerabilities and standardize remediation processes.
• Build Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) aligned with CIS and STIG benchmarks.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and logging tools.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues to ensure reliability.
• Fine‑tune distributed systems such as Apache Kafka and Cassandra.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Infra Ops, DevOps, or SRE.
• Strong Linux (Debian‑based) expertise.
• Proficiency with AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience with Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and GitOps workflows.
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or Golang.
• Background in security programs and monitoring tools.
