Software Quality Engineer - Cloud Platform

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to the test architecture and automation strategy for its cloud platform. The role suits a senior QA professional who wants to shape quality in cloud-native services. It is a hybrid position, with about two days per week spent in an HPE office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, automate and execute system-level test cases focused on scale, reliability, security and performance.
• Contribute to and influence the test automation strategy, evaluating and integrating new tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Work with product, development, support and platform engineering teams to ensure full lifecycle quality coverage.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA engineers and partners across teams.
• Take part in design reviews with a QA lens to ensure testability and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• 5-8 years of hands-on QA experience, including designing and building test automation frameworks and non-functional testing (scale, reliability, performance, security).
• Strong Python skills, with Pytest and Playwright; knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Linux/VM environments, REST APIs, JSON, SQL/NoSQL, and virtualization (KVM, VMware).
• Experience mentoring junior team members and driving cross-functional collaboration.
• BS/MS degree in science or engineering from an accredited institution.

Required skills

• Complete SDLC knowledge, test strategy, planning and execution.
• Automation background strong enough to own automation strategy and tools.
• CI/CD, Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux/VM, Pytest, KVM/VMware.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools and cloud-native testing in private cloud environments.
