Software UI Engineer II – React & Enterprise Web Platforms

About the role

HPE is looking for a Software UI Engineer II to design, develop, test and maintain responsive, accessible enterprise web applications. The role is hybrid, requiring about two days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop reusable UI components using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and Chakra UI.
• Translate designs and user stories into clean, maintainable code and test across browsers and screen sizes.
• Integrate front‑end with REST APIs, collaborate with designers, backend engineers, QA and DevOps, and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2‑4 years of professional experience building web applications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• React.js (functional components, hooks, lifecycle), JavaScript ES6, TypeScript.
• HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, web accessibility.
• Chakra UI or similar component library.
• Frontend tooling: npm, Webpack or Vite, Git, CI/CD concepts.
• Testing frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress or Selenium.
• Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, GraphQL, REST APIs) and AWS/cloud deployments.
