Systems/Software Engineer III – Cloud & On-Premise Development

About the role

HPE is seeking a Systems/Software Engineer III to develop and enhance cloud‑native and on‑premise security management platforms. The position is hybrid, requiring an average of two days per week in the San Juan office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software modules for Security Director Cloud and on‑premise products.
• Write robust unit tests, improve code coverage, and ensure high‑quality software delivery.
• Review and evaluate designs, follow compliance and development standards, and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience building cloud products with micro‑services architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience in globally distributed engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

• Go (1.24+), Java (Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Jakarta EE)
• PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, REST, OpenAPI/Swagger
• Apache Kafka (Confluent, Sarama), Redis‑based queues
• Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes client libraries, Prometheus, structured logging (SLF4J/Logback)
• Load balancer (Ambassador or equivalent), Bazel, Maven, Helm
• OAuth2, SAML, JWT, Jenkins CI/CD
