UI Lead Engineer – Generative AI & Enterprise Web Platforms

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior UI Lead Engineer to drive the architecture and delivery of high‑performance enterprise web applications. This hybrid position requires working on‑site two days per week in San Juan and focuses on React.js, TypeScript, and AI‑assisted development tools.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own frontend architecture strategy for enterprise‑grade web apps built with React.js and TypeScript.
• Design and evolve shared component libraries, design systems, and UI standards.
• Lead performance engineering initiatives such as code splitting, lazy loading, and bundle optimization.
• Own frontend build and deployment pipelines using Webpack and collaborate on API contracts and CI/CD with backend and DevOps teams.
• Mentor and upskill a team of frontend engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive frontend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead role.
• Proven experience architecting micro‑frontend or modular large‑scale frontend systems.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and cross‑browser compatibility.
