RF Engineer – Antenna Systems

About the role

The RF Engineer and Antenna Systems role at ITERRA is an on‑site position focused on designing, analyzing, and optimizing RF and antenna subsystems for passive sensing platforms used in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize RF and antenna subsystems for passive sensing platforms.
• Develop schematics, select components, and validate performance.
• Build and test RF circuits, characterize systems using lab equipment, and troubleshoot issues from prototype through production.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and field teams to ensure reliable operation in DDIL environments and seamless integration with command‑and‑control systems.
• Document designs and test results, support manufacturing, and contribute to continuous improvement of RF performance and robustness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands‑on experience with lab‑based prototyping, measurement, and validation of RF hardware from concept to production.
• Ability to work on‑site in Hatillo, Puerto Rico, and collaborate within a small, fast‑moving team.
• Clear communication in both technical and non‑technical contexts.
• Familiarity with passive sensing, defense or aerospace systems, or DDIL operational environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong RF design and RF circuit development skills.
• Proficiency in circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout collaboration, and component selection.
• Hands‑on experience using network analyzers and spectrum analyzers for system characterization, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of antenna theory, propagation, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in real‑world environments.
