Accounting and Tax Manager

About the role

Veguilla CPA Group, PSC is seeking an experienced accounting and tax professional to lead its team in Cayey. The role involves reviewing client accounting work, supervising tax engagements, and training staff, with a potential path to partnership.

Key responsibilities

• Review bookkeeping performed by staff and seniors, including reconciliations, account classifications, adjusting entries, and supporting schedules.
• Supervise tax preparation engagements, monitor deadlines, resolve technical questions, and review returns based on experience.
• Provide guidance, constructive review notes, and practical training to staff and seniors.
• Strengthen accounting procedures, workpaper standards, and review processes.

Required profile

• Substantial public accounting experience in accounting and tax review.
• Working knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. federal taxation relevant to the firm’s clients.
• Ability to supervise engagements, manage deadlines, and develop accounting professionals.
• Strong technical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to teamwork.
