Benefits Program Manager

About the role

The Benefits Program Manager is responsible for maintaining plan records, auditing data, and preparing reports and analytics related to plan administration and performance. The role requires daily coordination with external vendors and internal stakeholders to enhance employee experience, plan performance, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and serve as the primary contact for employee benefits programs in Puerto Rico.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, voluntary programs, EAP, retirement plan, and COBRA.
• Manage annual Open Enrollment, including communications, webinars, portal updates, and employee inquiries.
• Partner with vendors and internal HR Business Partners to improve processes, compliance, and employee experience.
• Support merger and acquisition initiatives to integrate benefits smoothly.

Required profile

• 7+ years progressive benefits administration experience, including retirement program support.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup formulas, data reconciliation, large‑data‑set analysis).
• Strong knowledge of benefits administration, vendor management, data auditing, reporting, and compliance (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookup formulas, data reconciliation).
• Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms, including configuration and testing.
• Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
