Lab Coordinator / Phlebotomist – Bilingual (English/Spanish)

About the role

The Lab Coordinator ensures execution of assigned laboratory procedures in compliance with GCP, ICH, FDA, HIPAA, and company SOPs. This role supports specimen handling, inventory management, and mentorship of new hires across multiple clinical research sites.

Key responsibilities

• Draw and process specimens according to trial requirements.
• Assist with specimen shipments to central labs and verify proper shipping methods.
• Monitor expiration dates on lab equipment and supplies.
• Unpack and store incoming lab supply shipments.
• Maintain general and study‑specific lab inventory, ensuring readiness for new study start‑ups.
• Transport samples and provide mentorship to new hires.
• Complete and renew CITI GCP and IATA training as required.
• Attend site initiation visits (SIVs) and complete sponsor‑required lab training.
• Support additional clinical research activities such as recruitment, EDC, and QA/chart review.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, FDA/HIPAA regulations, ICF documentation, and GCP guidelines while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory processing experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.
